Message one of the wires from the PTU/CAS is frayed near the top of the harness. this caused my z to misfire. so i soldered the connection and it was good. lately that connection seemed to loosen and there is a very slight misfire (you can hear it during the idle). because the wire was frayed off at the very top of the harness, there is absolutely no wire slack i can work with.

so i was thinking...should i just cut off the entire harness, crack open the harness up to re-attach some more solid wire, and reconnect all of the wires together? do you see any danger in doing this? even if i cut off the harness entirely, all i have to do is re-splice a handful of wires together to get an electric current running right? i really don't want to do this, but i really can't work on the thing unless its off the car.

please help with any advice. thanks.
